What you need to know for the 2026 State Champs

While some riders will be competing hard for Elite or Junior state championship medals, the WACX ethos of inclusivity and participation at all levels applies at our state champs event.

We encourage all riders to enter. The state championship title doesn’t mean this is an event only for ‘serious’ riders. It’s the same welcoming and friendly WACX community taking part in this event as every other event we put on. We can’t wait to see you there.

We’ll cover everything you need to know about our final event of the season. So let’s get stuck in.

What categories are there?

All the categories you see at our regular Numbat Cup Series events are available at the state champs. The only change is to the Young Guns category, where we offer junior state championship events aligned to the AusCycling age group categorisation.

What about kids and juniors?

We have events to suit all our young cyclocrossers. Little Crossers is our kids participation event that’s all about fun and participation. Held on a half course, parents will be able to see their kids for the majority of the shortened lap.

The other junior categories are held on the full course and riders will be able to compete for official AusCycling WA State Cyclocross Championship podiums.

Note that there are specific equipment requirements for some of the junior categories.
