Results – 2023 AusCycling National Cyclocross Series Round 1 and 2

Saturday 20 - Sunday 21 May 2023

Garvey Park, Western Australia

And that’s a wrap! And just like that, Round 1 & Round 2 of the AusCycling National Cyclocross Series (NCXS) is finished. It’s been a long time coming for WA (9 years since WA’s last NCXS rounds).

It was a major team effort to get this event up and running, and we’re all very pleased that the Australian CX community turned up on their droves to support it (we hear that there may have been 70+ spectators in the sands of Normandy cheering on the elite riders as they put on a masterclass of sand riding).

Both local and interstate competitors made this event quite the spectacle. And I’m sure we’ll all be dining out on the photos and videos coming off the back of the racing action for some time to come!

Special thanks to the organising committee including Tanya and Mark Matear, Stu and Louise Carson, Ashley Williams, Ben Nash, Bryan Stevenson and Mandy McEvoy. A heartfelt thanks also goes out to the army of volunteers who work behind the scenes at every WACX event to ensure they run smoothly. And a huge shout-out to our key sponsors and supporters who helped turn our idea into a reality.

If you’ve got a taste for the NCXS and want more, Rounds 3 & 4 are taking place in Adelaide on 3-4 June. It’s a public holiday in Perth on Mon 5 June, so it could make for a great long weekend! The crew at Port Adelaide Cycling Club put on a great weekend of racing! Find out more about the Series here.
