Lake Gwelup Reserve, Gwelup
The WACX community is still riding on a high after hosting the opening rounds of the 2023 AusCycling National Cyclocross Series three weeks ago. And while the weather in the run up to today’s racing provided rain of biblical proportions, the Lake Gwelup course drained very well and provided an excellent course for Round 3 of the 2023 Liquor Barons Numbat Cup.
And while the course may have looked like a straightforward grassy course from the sidelines, it had plenty of tricky sandy corners to keep all the riders honest. And no riders will forgot those steep pinchy climbs that made the legs burn every lap!
We saw lots of new kids and adults pinning on a number and racing for the first time. Keep spreading the word and encourage your mates to give CX a crack.
Thanks again to all who contribute to make these events a success.
For Round 4 of the 2023 Liquor Barons Numbat Cup we’ll be heading back to familiar territory. Perry Lakes Reserve will be the venue when the Numbat Cup continues on Sunday 2 July. Entries will open soon – keep an eye on the 2023 racing calendar for more info when it becomes available.
