The perfect sunshine on Sunday saw 165 cx’ers eager to get out & play at the spiritual home of WACX – Garvey Park.

The fine weather in the lead up to the race saw the muddy sections dry up in comparison to previous years, but video evidence shows it was still slippery enough to claim a few victims. And as always, Normandy challenged the legs and lungs of all riders.

37 kids hit the start line, so the future is looking bright. Plenty of new adults were christened at Garvey too as our numbers and followers are continuing to build. Spread the word and encourage your mates to have a crack – no better fun to be had on two wheels.

CX Racing in September takes a wee break, but the final race of the numbat cup season (which will also be the Heroic Cross event) will see us heading to the town of Beverley for an afternoon race on the 17th of October. This country course is an absolute ripper – put it in your diary!!

Only 90 mins from Perth – it’s an easy day trip, but book some accommodation, support the Beverley community and make a weekend of it. The CX race is part of the Beverley Heroic cycling event which will see a TTT road race, a CX race, a heroic gravel ride and the much loved heroic classic event. So put your CX bike to extra use and sign up for the gravel ride or the heroic classic event the following day. Go on – be heroic!
