Numbat Cup & WA State Championships
For our regular season of Liquor Barons Numbat Cup Series events and WA State Cyclocross Championships, a competitor’s age is defined as at 31 December of the current competition year (ie. a rider’s age on 31 December 2026).
You can read more about our Numbat Cup categories. We also have additional information for Kids and Juniors participating in cyclocross racing.
National-level racing
There were recent changes announced by AusCycling that affect cyclocross age categories. As per the directive from AusCycling:
Age groups will now run from the current year instead of the following year for all events excluding National Series and National Championships for under-17, under-19, under-23 and elite riders.
This means for Round 1 and Round 2 of the 2026 AusCycling National Cyclocross Series presented by R&D Cycles – U17, U19 and Elite ages will be calculated as at the rider’s age in the next competition year (ie. a rider’s age at at 31 December 2027).
