Results – 2023 Liquor Barons Numbat Cup Round 1

Sunday 2 April 2023

Edward Millen Park, East Victoria Park

A terrific first race of the Numbat Cup Series for 2023 at Ed Millen Park in Vic Park. It may possibly be our last foray at this unassuming yet challenging inner-city course as future redevelopment looms.

Around 20 volunteers turned up to assist with course building in the morning, which was fabulous! With so many people assisting with the course build, it helps to spread the load and ensure we don’t burn out our regular volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Thanks to the WACX community!

A special thanks goes out to Andrew Mccormack from BE&R Consulting for putting on Easter-themed post-course build brekky consisting of hot cross buns, mini Easter eggs and more!

We also saw one of our biggest race fields ever, with 173 racers across all grades on the start line. CX is definitely getting bigger and bigger in the west, and it’s heart-warming to see. And with a field of 45 kids racing today, the future is looking bright!

Thanks to all the riders and spectators for turning out in their droves and supporting our racing, and for making the WACX community so welcoming to new riders. And a big thanks goes out to all our sponsors and supporters. Remember to support those who support us by shopping local.
