WACX have teamed up with X-Speed Australia Cycling Club to offer junior riders the opportunity to participate in a free come-and-try session on the SpeedDome’s indoor velodrome on Sunday 21 April.
So, after the kids have taken part in Round 1 of the Numbat Cup Series, they can head over to the velodrome where X-Speed will run a fun track cycling intro session with AusCycling-qualified track coaches.
Ready to register?
To assist with planning for the day, X-Speed have asked if parents/guardians can register their kids’ interest in the session. You can register here.
What is it all about?
X-Speed will be running two sessions of approximately one hour each. The first session will be aimed at the Under 13 age group, and will take place after the end of their presentations (around 12 noon). The second session will be aimed at our Under 17 (Young Gun) riders, and will take place after the end of their presentations (around 1pm).
Track bikes will be provided and X-Speed will have sufficient bikes available to suit most juniors who wish to participate.
The minimum age is 8-years-old for this event and participants should be able to confidently ride a bike unassisted without training wheels.
What do I need to participate?
Riders are asked to bring their own AS 1698 compliant cycling helmet, comfortable clothing and closed in shoes. Riders are welcome to bring their own road shoes and pedals if they have them. Changerooms are available if required.
Riders are also required to hold a current AusCycling Race All Discipline membership to take part in the session. X-Speed team members will be available on the day to assist with membership for the day.
