Fishmarket Reserve, Guildford
Perth turned on perfect CX weather today. Congratulations to all who braved the wild conditions, and the tide, to ride, run and paddle their way around the course at Fishmarket Reserve.
This race of the Numbat Cup shall forever be known as the ‘underwater’ edition, thanks to the rapidly riding Swan River tide that saw racers tackling the back part of the course under about 2 feet of water by the time the last race of the day got underway! Many bottom bracket, headset and wheel bearings were destroyed in the making of this day of racing.
In the Carson family’s absence, a huge thanks goes to Ash Williams for overseeing the day, aided by Stefanie Van Amerongen, Bernadette Nash, Mandy McEvoy, Heather Booker and Tanya Matear who ran regos and worked their magic for old-school tap timing today. And all hail the course builders! Everyone appreciates you giving back to the sport to make these events possible for everyone.
Round 3 of the Numbat Cup Series will see us head out to Lake Gwelup on 12th June – jump on over to the Calendar for more details.
