Age categories for racing cyclocross

The following table outlines the recognised age categories under AusCycling, which WACX races are held under.

For our regular season of Numbat Cup races, a competitor’s age is defined as at the end of 31 December of the current competition year.

For the AusCycling WA State Cyclocross Championships and AusCycling National Cyclocross Series races, a competitor’s age is defined as at the end of 31 December of the next competition year.

When racing in the WA Cyclocross State Championships or National Cyclocross Series events in 2024, you’ll just need to calculate what your age will be at the end of 31 December 2025. Then apply this age to the table below to see which age group you fit into for these events.
