Results – 2026 AusCycling Cyclo-cross National Series – Round 1 and 2

23-24 May 2026

Garvey Park, Ascot

The 2026 AusCycling Cyclo-cross National Series Round 1 & 2, presented by R&D Cycles, delivered an unforgettable weekend of racing at Garvey Park. And while WA local riders made up the bulk of the competitors, it was great to see riders from ACT, Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales making the trip west.

The weekend began well before the first race with course designer Ben Nash and a crew of volunteers heading to Garvey Park on Friday to complete the course build. With dry conditions, the resulting course was fast and technical. The infamous sand of Garvey Park was set to test even the most hardened cyclocross rider.

The Little Crossers kids participation event kicked off the day’s festivities on each day of racing. There was plenty of smiles from riders and parents as the kids dashed around the circuit.

Junior, Masters and Elite racing followed, producing exciting battles throughout the fields and plenty of debate about whether the best approach through the deep sand was to ride or run.

The Round 1 Elite Women’s race showcased a dominant performance from Zoe Davison, whose strength and consistency saw her ride well clear of Angie Bollam and Victoria Burrows-Bilton to claim line honours.

Victorian Hayden Vimpani claimed the Round 1 Elite Men’s victory after local favourite and reigning National Champion Tristan Nash suffered a string of mechanical issues while leading. Campbell McConnell completed the podium after a strong battle with Toby Price.

Sunday brought more sunshine and a fresh challenge as the course reversed direction for Round 2. While riders now approached familiar features from a new angle, the Garvey sand remained every bit as demanding.

Zoe Davison again proved untouchable in the Elite Women’s race, backing up her Saturday performance to take a second victory, while Victoria Burrows-Bilton reversed the previous day’s result to finish ahead of Angie Bollam.

The Elite Men’s race delivered another thrilling contest, with Hayden Vimpani and Toby Price locked in an extended battle before Hayden eventually rode clear to complete the weekend sweep and take the National Series lead. Oliver James claimed bronze while Jon Gregg remained firmly in the mix.

The race village buzzed with activity throughout the weekend. Spectators and riders enjoyed coffee and treats from the food trucks while listening to expert commentary from the man with the golden tonsils – Ben Thorman.

Adding to the energy was the pink party zone beside the iconic stairs, where a DJ kept the music pumping across both days. The stairs became a spectator hotspot, with cheers and encouragement giving riders an extra boost as they tackled one of the course’s signature features.

WACX was also pleased to welcome Councillor Jarod Harris on Saturday and Mayor Robert Rossi on Sunday to present medals, recognising the important role the City of Belmont continues to play in supporting cyclocross at Garvey Park.

The Perth rounds marked a fantastic start to the 2026 National Series and showcased some exciting racing. Without our amazing community, weekends like this simply wouldn’t happen. WACX thanks the volunteers, commissaires, sponsors, supporters and travelling riders who helped make the event such a success.

The National Series now heads to Canberra for Round 3 & 4 on 27–28 June.
